Volunteering in Competition

Volunteering in competition is extremely rewarding if you are involved and it is vital to our athletes.  Without our volunteers assisting our athletes in all areas of competitions they would not be able to compete/

There are a range of ways you can get involved!

Coaching - Getting involved in coaching is extremely rewarding. The development of our athletes is a key to success in major competitions. Life Saving Victoria offer Level I coaching Courses throughout the year. For more information click here

Officiating - We need officials to be able to compete, there is no way around it! We as a club need to meet the ratios set at the start of each season. There are a number of official roles at carnivals including marshal, recorder, starter, line judge and more. Want to get involved? Life Saving Victoria offer Level I Official courses throughout the year. For more information click here

Team Manager - We need team managers at all carnivals to oversee the competitors. Team managing includes staying on top of the carnival schedule, entries prior to the carnivals, assisting with the hydration and food intake of athletes, organising craft handlers and more.

Other tasks - There are always smaller tasks that need to be completed for our athletes. A touring team may need meals arranged, uniforms organised and accommodation arranged. When the Torquay SLSC host a carnival we need a work party, BBQ cookers and helpers to make officials lunches. There is always ways you can help out!

Interested? Contact the club via email at info@torquayslsc.com.au and we can put you in touch with the appropriate person.
